GMP requires that the floor of the clean workshop should be made of hard material, good integrity, smooth and flat, non-cracking, wear-resistant, impact-resistant, not easy to accumulate static electricity, easy to clean and disinfect, and corrosion-resistant materials. Cracking and moisture-proofing of the ground during use are two issues that should be paid attention to, especially for large-area ground. At present, the most widely used ground materials in pharmaceutical companies include inelastic ground, coated ground, and elastic ground.
Terrazzo floor is a commonly used building decoration material. Because of its rich sources of raw materials, low prices, good decorative effects, and simple construction techniques, it has been widely used.
Terrazzo floor is a kind of inelastic floor, which has the characteristics of good integrity, good mechanical strength, wear resistance, heavy pressure resistance, anti-static, easy to clean and so on. However, since the surface of terrazzo is observed under a microscope (as shown in the picture), although the surface is polished, microorganisms and dust particles may hide in the gap. Therefore, after polishing, waxing treatment is required. Terrazzo is generally used for cleanliness. Low (one hundred thousand grade clean area) workshops, such as: solid preparation workshop, raw material medicine (fine, baking, packaging) workshop, etc.
Because the terrazzo floor lacks elasticity, it will spread to the surface when the concrete base layer cracks, so management should be strengthened during construction. The construction process of terrazzo mainly includes: basic treatment→leveling construction→fixed grid strip→wiping terrazzo surface layer→polishing→waxing.
